The 2016 Salt Lake City Comic Con was pretty cool. It’s something I look forward to each year. It was held again this year at the Salt Palace Convention Center. This year we went all three days, but I have to say Thursday and Friday are so much nicer than the over-crowded Saturday show! Next year we think we will go only one day and just take Thursday or Friday off from work and avoid Saturday all together.
The con was a ton of fun and we bought a lot of art this year, including a commission sketch, a really nice Sachiel from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Can’t wait to frame it all and get them hung on the wall. I’ll try to do a separate post of that later in the year. I also scored a bunch of comic back issues of G.I. Joe Special Missions, G.I. Joe European Missions and some older original Image titles I had mistakenly gave away. All of these added up to about only $7, so stoked!
I also picked up some pretty sweet Lego knockoff mini figs; The Emperor and two Royal Guards from Star Wars and also a TIE Fighter Pilot from Star Wars. Very cool.
Finally, I managed to take photos of a few really cool cosplayers…
Last but not least, some cool outdoor displays from The Hobbit.
