This past weekend we drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton. J had been wanting to take a walk around the Solitude Nordic Center since it had opened back up to the public for walking/hiking as of Easter weekend. There was plenty of hard packed snow left on the ground, so it wasn’t too hard to walk on with boots. We were pretty much out there by ourselves for the most part. We only saw a handful of people, including a lady on snow shoes and a man on skis. It was pretty quiet the whole time, besides the birds chirping.
I brought a handful of G.I. Joes to photograph in the snow. I think I have about four usable photos that I can post over the next few months. I was also testing out my camera’s ‘jpg-only monochrome picture style’ for kicks. I ended up getting a decent shot of some trees.
Walking around the Nordic Center is always a fun way to relax on the weekends. Check it out if you’ve never been.
